What Makes A Great Podcast!

Updated: Nov 13

Re Podcasts You more than likely fall into one of two sides: You love podcasts and listen to one every day on the train or while swearing at the traffic while listening on your earbuds on your cycle to work.

Even if you fall in the latter side, there's no arguing that podcasts are here to stay. Various forms of podcasts are listened to by about 90 million people monthly and more than 50 per cent of the U.S. population age 12 and up, according to the latest research.

As a podcaster reviewer myself, I can appreciate why podcasts are so popular. I started listening about three years ago. One such podcast was called Hurdle—a podcast where the host chats with everyone from entrepreneurs to top CEOS and athletes about how they worked during challenging times by integrating wellness and fitness into their daily routine—The podcast was produced in his living room with a $99.50 Blue Yeti microphone and lots of ideas.

Everyone has their own opinion on what makes a good and listenable podcast, and I prioritise well-spoken and interesting hosts with a passion for their subject area, a great cadence and rapport with the guests they take on, and the best audio quality.
